What scale is this? Is it G scale?

Actually, the scale designation for what we are doing is F scale. The numeric ratio is 1:20.3. What this does is convert the gauge in conventional G track to 3' Narrow gauge.

What size rail do you use?

Handlaid Code 215 NS rail on pine ties with tie plates on most of the railroad. Sidings are laid without the tie plates

Do you run on straight DC?

We are currently using conventional Track power (0-24v) with a little battery power mixed in. We are currently reviewing DCC options

Where did you get the ties?

Most of the ties we cut from pine on a table saw. We generated a lot of sawdust with that task!

How were the ties weathered?

We distressed the ties with a wire wheel and applied a variety of stains. Some of the club members use shoe dye (puchased from a shoe repair shop).
